Kimberly Chiles, M.A., LPC, NCC

I am a New Orleans native and earned a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Psychology from Southern University New Orleans and a Master’s of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Our Lady of Holy Cross College. I was motivated to become a counselor as a result of  losing half my site as an adolescent.  Today, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), holding a license with the Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners, and a member of both the American Counseling Association (ACA) and Louisiana Counseling Association (LCA).  I am also the Founder and Executive Director of Family Agenda Community Center; a nonprofit organization that supports families to build a better quality of life.  I am dedicated and experience in providing quality counseling services to individuals and families of all ages and populations in a safe and confidential environment. I approache counseling from a cognitive-behavioral and person-centered perspective to explore and identify present problem situations, develop future goals for an improved life, and work in a systematic fashion toward realizing those goals. I have over a decade of counseling experience in the following areas

  • Crisis Intervention/Suicide Prevention
  • Individual/Group Counseling
  • Bullying/Conflict Resolutions
  • Violence Prevention
  • Mental Disorders
  • Addiction Counseling
  • Career Counseling
  • Family Counseling
  • Couples Counseling
  • Case Management
  • School -based Intervention
  • Behavioral Support Services
  • Parenting Skills
  • Diversion Program
  • Child Custody Evaluations
  • Court-mandated Supervised Child Visitation
  • Certified Family and Divorce Mediator

I see counseling as a process in which you the client, and I as the LPC come to understand, trust one another, and work as a team.  I view my visual impairment as an example for my clients that overcoming impasses in life is possible. My belief is that people with hope can learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes in order to be free to experience change.
